Role Overview: As a Backend Engineer at Widenet Consulting, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining a robust document management system (DMS) deployed on AWS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable backend services that enhance document processing and storage capabilities. What You'll Do: - You will champion and own the design, development, and delivery of a scalable document management system. - You will create and evolve document processing pipelines to ensure efficient data handling. - You will develop and maintain backend services deployed on AWS infrastructure. - You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software. - You will troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues. - You will implement best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - You will document system designs and development processes for team knowledge sharing. What You Bring: - 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development. - Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js. - Experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and EC2. - Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture. - Familiarity with document management systems or related technologies. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. - Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. - Background in data processing or workflow automation. - Prior experience working in a fully remote US-based role.
