Role Overview: As a Backend Engineer at Widenet Consulting, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems. Your primary focus will be on building a robust document management system (DMS) deployed on AWS, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. What You'll Do: - You will champion and own the design, development, and delivery of a robust document management system (DMS) deployed on AWS. - You will create and evolve document processing pipelines and storage solutions to handle large volumes of data efficiently. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and QA to deliver high-quality software. - You will implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment in a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment. - You will monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and responsiveness. - You will contribute to architectural decisions and help define technical standards and guidelines. - You will stay current with emerging backend technologies and AWS services to continuously improve the system. What You Bring: - 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development. - Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js. - Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and EC2. - Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture. - Experience with database design and management, both SQL and NoSQL. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with document management systems or content management platforms. - Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. - Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments. - Prior experience working in fully remote teams within the US.
