Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-Time Location: Natick, MA Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $33–$60 per hour (based on experience) Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends Sign-On Bonus/Relocation: Available Differential Pay: Available On-Call: Required Position Overview Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time opportunity in Natick, Massachusetts. This position provides direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting and plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, de-escalation skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Oversight • Perform behavioral health assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans. • Administer medications and monitor patient response in collaboration with providers. • Observe, evaluate, and document patient behavior, clinical interventions, and outcomes. • Utilize trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques to promote safety. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on treatment planning and discharge processes. Safety & Crisis Intervention • Monitor patients for safety risks, including self-harm or aggressive behaviors. • Participate in crisis intervention using least-restrictive, evidence-based practices. • Follow restraint and seclusion protocols in alignment with hospital and regulatory standards. Leadership & Collaboration • Serve as charge nurse or team lead when assigned. • Delegate tasks to mental health technicians and support staff appropriately. • Promote a positive, collaborative unit culture through communication and teamwork. Patient & Family Education • Provide education on diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and available resources. • Support patient engagement in treatment participation and recovery planning. Documentation & Compliance • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). • Ensure proper execution of provider orders. • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality regulations, and all legal documentation standards. QualificationsLicensure & Certifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (required). • BLS certification (required). • CPI or crisis intervention certification (preferred or required upon hire). Experience • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred. • Experience in inpatient mental health, crisis stabilization, or substance use treatment is a plus. Skills • Strong assessment and clinical judgment abilities. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to function well in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Additional Requirements • Successful completion of background check. • Successful completion of drug screening. • Compliance with vaccination and health clearance requirements.
