Our client is a dynamic and growing enterprise seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join their strategic sourcing team. This role is crucial in driving cost savings, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality goods and services. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating complex contracts, and building strong relationships with key suppliers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of procurement best practices, market intelligence, and a proven ability to deliver significant value to the organization. Responsibilities: Develop and implement category strategies for indirect and direct spend, focusing on cost reduction, supplier performance, and risk mitigation. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, benchmark pricing, and understand market trends. Lead complex sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) from development through execution and supplier selection. Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for contracts with new and existing suppliers. Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and strategic alignment. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of cost-saving initiatives and track their successful implementation. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for consolidation and further cost savings. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in procurement and supply chain management. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems. Manage supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives where applicable. Prepare detailed reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance. Mentor and guide junior procurement staff. Oversee the contract management process, ensuring all agreements are properly documented and managed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management. Proven experience in managing complex procurement categories and negotiating significant contracts. In-depth knowledge of sourcing methodologies, contract law, and risk management principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle). Experience in category management and supplier relationship management. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with remote and on-site teams. CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Experience in the (mention relevant industry if applicable, e.g., energy, manufacturing, technology) sector is a plus.
