Our client, a dynamic media and communications firm, is seeking a seasoned Senior Public Relations Specialist to join their team in Portland, Oregon . This hybrid role offers the opportunity to craft and execute impactful PR strategies for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for media relations, press release development, crisis communications, and brand reputation management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of media landscapes, excellent writing and storytelling skills, and a proven track record of securing positive media coverage. Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies and campaigns for clients. Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, journalists, and influencers across various platforms. Write compelling press releases, media advisories, pitches, and executive talking points. Secure positive media coverage in print, online, and broadcast outlets. Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing analysis and recommendations. Manage crisis communications and develop proactive response plans. Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to ensure integrated communications efforts. Organize press conferences, media events, and client briefings. Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns using relevant metrics. Provide strategic counsel and support to clients on PR matters. Stay informed about current events and industry news relevant to clients' businesses. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, agency or in-house. Demonstrated success in media relations and securing high-profile coverage. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong understanding of media relations best practices and current PR trends. Experience with media monitoring tools and PR software. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in social media platforms and their role in PR strategy is a plus. Experience in crisis communications is highly desirable. This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Portland, Oregon office several days a week.
