Our client, a leading innovator in automotive technology, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical software development initiatives in **Detroit, Michigan, US**. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of complex software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with engineering teams, product management, and external stakeholders to drive the successful execution of cutting-edge automotive software solutions, including infotainment systems, autonomous driving features, and connected car technologies. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; developing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management; leading and motivating cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment; managing project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies, and proactively resolving challenges; tracking project progress and reporting key metrics to stakeholders on a regular basis; ensuring adherence to software development lifecycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies; facilitating effective communication and coordination among all project participants; managing vendor relationships and contracts as needed; conducting project post-mortems and implementing lessons learned to improve future project execution; and ensuring the successful integration of software components into the overall vehicle architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable. A minimum of 7 years of proven project management experience, specifically within the automotive software development domain, is required. Strong understanding of embedded systems, automotive software architectures (e.g., AUTOSAR), and agile/scrum methodologies is essential. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are paramount. Experience managing projects involving AI/ML, cybersecurity, or connectivity features is a significant plus.
