Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their manufacturing operations team in **Durham, North Carolina, US**. This role is critical in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Design, develop, and implement new production systems and workflows to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes. Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflows and resource allocation. Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to improve manufacturing capabilities. Collaborate with production teams, quality control, and management to implement process changes. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost. Create and interpret process flow diagrams, layout designs, and other engineering documentation. Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on process improvements and best practices. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects, providing input on manufacturability. Perform cost-benefit analysis for proposed process changes and equipment investments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing setting. Strong understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred). Proficiency in process mapping, simulation software, and data analysis tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Experience with CAD software for layout design is a plus. Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and influence cross-functional teams. Experience in the specific industry of our client is highly desirable.
