Our client, a global leader in the energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Security Architect to join their established IT security team in Houston, Texas, US . This critical role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions for our client's multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will play a key role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's cloud-based assets and sensitive data. Your responsibilities will include developing cloud security policies and standards, conducting security assessments and audits, and defining security architecture requirements for new cloud deployments. You will also be instrumental in implementing security best practices, such as identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, network security controls, and threat detection and response mechanisms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud security frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST), container security, and security automation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline and advocate for a DevSecOps culture. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks, staying ahead of emerging threats, and contributing to the overall security posture of the organization. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) security and incident response in cloud environments is essential. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices. Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of cloud environments. Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. Design and deploy network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure data protection through encryption, key management, and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies. Develop and implement threat detection and response capabilities for cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff. Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and trends. Lead security incident response activities in cloud environments. Automate security processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on cloud security architecture. Extensive experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services. Deep understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Benchmarks. Proficiency in security automation tools and techniques (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python). Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of network security principles and protocols. Proven experience in threat modeling and risk assessment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications are highly desirable.
