Our client, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, is seeking an experienced and proactive Logistics Operations Manager to oversee and optimize their distribution operations. This essential on-site role is based at their major hub in Atlanta, Georgia, US . The Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all day-to-day activities within the distribution center, ensuring efficient throughput, cost-effectiveness, and high levels of customer satisfaction. You will lead a team of warehouse supervisors and associates, implement best practices in warehousing, inventory management, and transportation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing operational strategies, managing labor resources, overseeing inventory accuracy and control, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in logistics and warehouse operations management. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is mandatory, and familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) is a strong plus. Proven leadership skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent problem-solving capabilities are essential. You should be adept at managing budgets, optimizing workflows, and implementing lean or Six Sigma methodologies. This is a critical role for a dedicated logistics professional looking to make a significant impact on a high-volume operation and contribute to the success of a premier supply chain organization. Your leadership will directly influence the efficiency and reliability of our client's distribution network. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping. Manage and develop a team of warehouse supervisors and hourly employees. Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Optimize inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies. Manage operational budgets and control costs associated with warehouse operations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and data analysis. Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and equipment. Collaborate with transportation teams to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods. Implement and manage Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionalities. Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations management. Proven experience in managing large distribution center operations. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in operational budgeting and cost control. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehousing. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
