Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturing conglomerate, is seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Operations Strategy to join their leadership team in Detroit, Michigan, US . This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing long-term operational strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive sustainable growth across all facets of the organization. You will leverage data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize supply chains, and ensure operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. Analyze existing operational processes, identify bottlenecks, and design solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. Lead strategic initiatives focused on supply chain optimization, lean manufacturing, and process re-engineering. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and best practices in operations management. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and track progress against strategic goals. Collaborate with senior leadership across departments (e.g., production, logistics, finance) to ensure seamless integration of strategic initiatives. Manage budgets for strategic projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within financial constraints. Mentor and develop a team of analysts and project managers responsible for implementing strategic changes. Present strategic recommendations and findings to the executive team and board of directors. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations division. Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, strategic planning, or management consulting, with a significant focus on manufacturing environments. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful operational strategies that have yielded measurable improvements. Deep understanding of supply chain management, lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement techniques. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Strong financial acumen and experience in developing business cases and managing project budgets. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, long-term projects. Proficiency in using ERP systems and business intelligence tools. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate high-level objectives into actionable plans.
