Role Overview: As an Industrial/Mechanical Engineer at Weyerhaeuser, you will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring the smooth operation of our advanced production facilities. Your expertise will help maintain safety standards while driving efficiency and innovation in our wood product manufacturing. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and implement engineering solutions to improve manufacturing processes. - You will analyze production data to identify areas for operational improvements. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and industrial issues. - You will ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant. - You will lead projects focused on equipment maintenance and process automation. - You will support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. - You will prepare technical documentation and reports for management review. - You will participate in training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians. What You Bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or mechanical engineering within a manufacturing environment. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and equipment maintenance. - Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the wood products or forestry industry. - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. - Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. - Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems.
