The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving sales of Sawatch Labs’ product lines for fleet electrification analysis and emissions reporting. This role involves building strong relationships with fleets and partners while educating prospects on the benefits of data-driven fleet analysis to meet their sustainability goals.
The ideal candidate should have proven sales experience, preferably in the EV, sustainability, and/or fleet industries, with at least 3 years of commercial fleet-related experience. A strong understanding of the fleet industry and the EV market, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills, is essential.

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving sales of Sawatch Labs’ product lines for fleet electrification analysis and emissions reporting to achieve revenue targets. This role involves building strong relationships with fleets and partners in the fleet electrification space and includes educating prospects on the benefits of data-driven fleet analysis to meet their sustainability goals. The Business Development Specialist will provide exceptional sales support to customers and partners while guiding them through the sales and contracting process. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainable fleet operations, possesses excellent communication and sales skills, and is committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience. How you'll make an impact Sales Activities: Proactively generate and nurture leads through various channels, including online platforms, marketing initiatives, networking events, trade shows, cold calling, existing customer outreach, and referrals. Conduct product demonstrations and facilitate referral discussions to showcase the features and benefits of Sawatch’s product suite. Identify and lead responses to relevant RFPs. Negotiate sales terms and close deals to drive new business and contribute to overall company growth Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipeline in the CRM. Provide feedback to the product, commercial, and customer support teams to help identify opportunities for future product improvements, market trends, service gaps, and other critical measures for long-term revenue growth. Revenue Growth: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize revenue. Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities to increase Sawatch’s and WEX’s overall value proposition. Analyze sales performance data and market trends to optimize sales efforts. Ability to work with mixed energy fleets to reinforce with them that Sawatch and WEX products and services can meet them where they are in their electrification journey to help achieve their operations goals. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and competitor activities. Sales Support: Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales process and beyond. Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and direct them to the appropriate Sawatch support functions promptly and professionally. Educate customers on fleet electrification, EV charging, payments, emissions reporting, and other related topics. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners to foster loyalty, references, and future referrals. Collaborate with Sawatch’s customer success and client analytics teams to ensure a smooth onboarding and implementation for customers and partners. Follow up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and see if needs have changed where other Sawatch or WEX products could support the evolving nature of their operations. Experience you’ll bring Proven sales experience, preferably in the EV, sustainability, and/or fleet industries. 3+ years of commercial fleet-related experience is preferred. Experience in selling B2B products across all industry verticals (large, medium, small business, government, etc.) Strong understanding of the fleet industry and the EV market. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools. Willingness to help refine and mold sales processes for Sawatch’s evolving product suite. Previous experience selling EVs, EVSE, or related software products, preferred. Knowledge of government incentives and rebates for EVs, preferred. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. This is a salary + commissioned position The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
