Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team. The MA will carry out patient assessment, treatment, and support, ensuring that all medical records are accurately maintained and that patients receive the best possible care. MA responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Duties • Triaging patients for well and sick visits • Interviewing parents and documenting information in a timely manner in the EMR • Screening vision and hearing • Administering vaccines or antibiotic injections with proper and timely documentation • Administering medication by mouth and providing breathing treatments • Administering medication by IM injection • Performing in-office screening tests requiring pharyngeal or nasal swabs, and urine analysis • Suture removal, staple removal, wound cleaning, and dressing • Ensuring infection control and room cleaning after visits • Carrying out phone triaging, communicating with parents, forwarding messages from doctors, and giving medical advice after proper training by office staff Qualifications • Valid Medical Assistant (MA) license in Texas • Minimum 1-2 years of previous experience in pediatric office • Thorough knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and procedures • Strong understanding of medical systems and case management processes. • Pleasant and excellent communication skills, verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams in person and over the phone. • Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
