PROJECT DIRECTOR COMPANY OVERVIEW WestRock Restoration is a full-service property restoration company specializing in emergency services, water mitigation, asbestos and mold remediation, and reconstruction services. We serve both commercial and residential clients throughout the entire state of Michigan who have experienced property damage resulting from water, fire, mold, or storms. JOB SUMMARY The Project Director is responsible for managing and closing new business opportunities through leads and referrals generated by personal business development and marketing activities with their business development manager. The Project Director works closely with owners and managers of commercial, industrial, government, and residential properties damaged by man-made or natural disasters to develop cost estimates for restoration, renovation, environmental, and roofing services. The Project Director is responsible for estimating and customer communication from initial assessment through final completion. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Xactimate, and T&M billing, has a strong understanding of insurance protocols, budget creation, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of restoration processes, and the ability to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water damage mitigation, repair estimates, with the ability to effectively interface with clients, production teams, and management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES · Project Management · Estimating Proficiency · Customer Satisfaction PRINCIPLE DUTIES Sales and Estimating · Generate, manage and close sales leads generated from company and personal referral sources · Inspect, and determine the appropriate scope of repairs · Generate and present complete and professional estimates · Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals · Negotiate and execute contracts on behalf of the company · Achieve profit margins in line with company goals · Prepare estimates promptly and accurately Marketing & Business Development · Market company services to new customers · Target major account, large loss executives, and facility/property management executives via weekly sales and business development activity · Lead the participation in industry functions, such as trade shows · Attend industry-related functions for marketing purposes · Document and track all prospect and client data in WestRock’s CRM system · Foster close working relationships with subcontractors and vendor partners Project Management · Provide all project information to the Project Manager and Project Coordinator including budget, completion date, and all other relevant information · Ensure production team understands scope, budget and schedule · Obtain and submit subcontractor bids as needed · Write subcontractor agreements and be able to show a justified job cost prior to transitioning the project to a Project Manager · Obtain all signed change orders for all changes to the project, as required · Act as a positive liaison between WestRock, the customer, and Project Manager. Check in with all clients weekly once the project has been assigned to a Project Manager · Ensure weekly communication commitments are kept EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS ● Proven experience as a Project Director in the restoration space. ● Proficient in Xactimate (Level II or higher preferred) with a strong understanding of insurance estimating practices. ● Proven ability to manage multiple projects and effectively lead subcontractors and vendors. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset. ● Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and project financials. ● Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management platforms, and cloud-based documentation. ● Experience with social media platforms such as LinkedIn. ● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES · Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, internal teams, vendors and external regulatory organizations. · Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to respond quickly to client questions and concerns. · Negotiation skills. • Proficiency in estimation software (Xactimate) and project management tools. • Computer literacy with use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Exceptional customer service skills. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS · Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred. · Relevant certifications (e.g., IICRC, OSHA 30, EPA Asbestos Certification) are a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time. Must have the flexibility to travel via car and/or air, on short notice as the business dictates. Our business requires emergency preparedness and response as well as the flexibility to be available after normal business hours and on weekends. Ability to lift heavy (50 pounds) materials and equipment as needed. Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and outdoor settings. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is typically performed in an interior/office work environment, but physical presence on job sites is often necessary. This demands attention to safety and adaptability to changing conditions. Must be able to walk project job sites which include uneven surfaces, avoiding heavy machinery and climbing stairs. Physical presence may require working in inclement weather. The noise level in the work environment may be distracting or loud.
