Western Extrusions is now seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our facility in Carrollton. Growth opportunities available!!! ---------------------------------------------------------- Position Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Must successfully demonstrate proficiency through written and/or 'hands-on' demonstration of the following requirements: • **Competent at using and reading tape measure, caliper, micrometer, feeler gages.** • Have in-depth understanding of the work flow through the department, including work orders, department production schedules, tooling, incoming material supply, and material handling through the department. • Check the material being produced for conformity to print and understand specific tolerances in addition to finish requirements. • Reads and interprets the Aluminum Standards Tolerance Book. • Perform first piece and roving inspections. • Prepares accurate inspection reports. • Keep in communication with Quality Control Team Leader and/or Supervisor. • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance. • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor or Safety department. • Perform hardness checks. • Loading, unloading, and starting/monitoring age ovens. • Understands the function of all handling equipment and age ovens. • Understand aging practices for the various alloys and tempers. • Have in-depth understanding of the tensile test software for pull test. • Preparation of samples and operation of equipment and software for pull test and Rockwell hardness test. • Perform other duties as required. Education, Experience and Abilities: • Must be able to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities of job. • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Previous customer service experience with industrial products is preferred • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers. Ability to work with both fractions and decimals.
