Job Title: Senior Manager – Manufacturing Engineer Location: Tamarac, FL (Onsite) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (with occasional additional hours) Salary: $123k-160k(+) Depending on Experience Employment Type: Direct Hire Overview: The Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Engineering, Operations Excellence, Automation, and Maintenance resources across the Plant to ensure efficient manufacturing operations across the organization. This role will drive the introduction of new products into operations, develop processes to increase plant productivity, help ensure on-time delivery, strive to reduce costs through improved production methods. This plant leadership team role is critical in ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity targets are met with a focus on Lean Principles. He/she aims to sustainably develop & implement World Class Operations capabilities & best practices in the factory together with the Production, Quality, Safety, and Inventory Key Responsibilities: • Plans, organizes, and assigns departmental workload to maximize efficiency of personnel • Coordinates departmental activities in design and implementation of plant layout, tool, machine, equipment, and process changes; coordinates outside contractors and vendors • Collaborates with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams • Directs selection, training, compensation, discipline, and development of departmental personnel • Represents manufacturing on product development projects, coordinating all manufacturing elements in plan development and implementation • Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards • Assists the Maintenance Manager and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department. Directs maintenance activities in support of production needs • Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements • Prepares and implements the departmental budget • Ensures all preventive maintenance (PM) requirements and schedules are loaded into the asset management system • Ensures all PM tasks are executed on time and in full • Maintains critical spares lists and inventories for all equipment • Maintain plant-wide unplanned downtime at <5% of availability • Maintains plant-wide and business-unit equipment specifications to minimize spare parts lists and ensure redundancy • Partners with VP of Operations to identify the best vendor partners and appropriate equipment to meet production requirements • Leads installation, and commissioning of Capital Equipment to support plant improvements in capacity and efficiency. • Manages and coordinates capital equipment acquisition and continuous improvement projects, including: • Preparation of proposals and justification • Preparation and monitoring of project plans and schedules • Recommendation and/or selection of project team members • Lead project team meetings • Communication of project status • Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency. • Drive the implementation of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing change program for Operational Excellence. Monitor, report and communicate progress. • Actively create a culture in which Continuous Improvement becomes organizational values to create a competitive advantage • Analyzes and manages the company’s efforts to maximize facility use by recommending physical plant modifications or additions, floor space design, and machine and equipment placement in support of manufacturing department objectives. • Consults with design engineering staff, purchasing, and suppliers concerning product design, tooling, and the purchase of materials, parts, and/or equipment • Consults with production leadership and shop associates concerning process improvements • Provide active support in rational problem solving and performance improvement projects at all level of the organization. • Identify, train and coach in lean concepts Must-Have Qualifications: • 10 years of Manufacturing Leadership Experience • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong supervisory and leadership skills - Direct reports: 3 Production Manager • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records • Toyota Production System (TPS) / Lean Experience - absolute must (7-10 years) • Knowledge of SAP required - must be proficient • Experience with high mix and low volume production • Managing a diverse workforce • Felxible schedule • Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, required. Preferred Qualifications: • At least five years of supervisory experience preferred. • Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records. • Toyota Production System (TPS) / Lean Experience, also Six-Sigma Certified a strong plus Interview Process: • 1ST Set up virtual interview (30 mins with HM & HR) • 2ND interview (if 1st goes well) will have an on-site meet and greet which will last 1hr 30 mins.
