Assist in radio programming, manage scheduling, produce spots, and support station operations.
Previous broadcast station experience, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, excellent communication skills, and a strong Christian faith.
The Program Assistant for the Word FM network helps to facilitate high-quality programming for this Christian media outlet with representation in various sized markets across central and eastern PA and northern MD. The successful candidate will have a strong Christian faith--consistent with our organization’s mission, be detail-oriented and adaptable, and bring relevant experience while remaining eager to learn. Responsibilities Music · Learn and backup the Program Director (PD) in weekly music scheduling · Learn and backup the PD in review of submitted music for airplay, including recordkeeping of all music reviewed · Submit spin count reports for industry panels · Prepare bi-weekly online music testing with PD input · Assist with annual music library test Traffic · Manage Run of Schedule agreements (PSAs & Underwriters) · Assist in daily scheduling · Run log reconciliation daily and schedule MakeGoods as needed · Run Log Detail Report weekly for affidavit reporting (and as requested) · Report spot airtimes to syndicators · Write copy for PSAs and underwriting acknowledgments (and produce audio as directed) Production · Produce and load spots for on-air playback · Help design, produce weekly/bi-monthly new music liner/jingle for all songs added · Voice copy as directed · Process weekday features · Process pre-recorded programs · Review and process show breaks daily prior to airing · Manage daily scripture feature (selecting scripture, production, and scheduling) On-Air/Program · Board operator for all live events · On-mic work (during fundraisers) Fundraisers Involvement with fundraisers that includes board-op, communication & troubleshooting with coordinator and director of development, staff, guest hosts, and volunteers Administrative · Maintain the Issues & Programs Lists for the FCC public file (quarterly) · Route any community events or businesses for possible paid agreements · Reports as requested Additional Job Expectations · Participate on the Street Team · Represent the station in the community via speaking, attending events, visiting underwriters/day sponsors Qualifications Qualified applicants should send resume and voice samples to meg@wordfm.org.
