Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/Elementary Classroom Date Posted: 1/27/2026 Location: Allendale Elementary School District: Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools Position: Elementary Teacher- 1st Grade Location: Allendale Elementary Roles and Responsibilities: • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students based on the District's educational philosophy, goals, objectives and individual student plan. • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation. • Establish and maintain standards of appropriate student behavior. • Employ a variety of instructional strategies and media which meet the needs and capabilities of the students. • Evaluate student performance on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. • Refer students with special needs to the appropriate District specialist and participate on committees related to individual student planning. • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, self, equipment, materials, and facilities in order to provide an ongoing, safe classroom environment. • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation. • Assist as directed in the daily operations of the school. • Be available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when needed. • Plan and supervise duties for teacher aides and volunteers. • Maintain and improve competence through participation in professional training • Attend all staff meetings and serve on committees as requested. • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or designee. Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college institution. • Valid Michigan teaching certificate or such other credentials as may be required by the Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public School District for this position Working Schedule and Rate of Pay: 40 week per year position (teacher work calendar) Salary according to master contract
