The Business Insights and Analytics Intern will assist in statistical testing and data analysis using SQL, Tableau, Excel, and/or Python to support decision-making processes and operational improvements. Responsibilities • Create and write queries using Structured Query Language (SQL) and other programming languages as applicable to enable access to large datasets to enable more efficient analysis to drive tactical and strategic decisions • Analyze data using a variety of advanced techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining, to provide information necessary to drive decisions • Support operationalizing findings via testing and/or market research to drive additional context and final outcomes/business improvements Skills • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration or major in finance, planning & analysis or in a quantitative field such as business intelligence, mathematics, computer science or statistics • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel • Proficient coding in SQL, Exposure to Python a plus • Exposure to statistical methods a plus • Exposure to a visualization tool, such as Tableau a plus • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Results-oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize • Proactive and displays initiative, seeking out information and answers without needing to be pushed to do so • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills • Positive attitude • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Company Overview • Here at Wawa, the sky's the limit.​ Voted as “America’s Favorite Convenience Store,” Wawa operates a chain of convenience retail stores located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Washington D.C.
