Washingtonian magazine, the area’s award winning monthly lifestyle publication, is offering a paid Marketing and Events internship. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment. This intern will support the coordinating, planning, marketing and executing of Washingtonian events. As an integral part of the team, the Marketing & Events Intern will report to the Director of Marketing & Events, and will work closely with the Manager and Coordinator, assisting as needed. Responsibilities Include: ● Assist in the execution of all Washingtonian events, including participating in event production meetings with internal team members and outside vendors ● Proactively research new vendors and venues for future collaboration ● Organize and manage vendor and partner contacts ● Support event marketing efforts and help grow the Washingtonian Events Instagram ● Assist with post event follow up, including finalizing budgets and reviewing event recaps ● Collaborate with the Marketing Graphic Designer to create marketing materials for social media ● Be a part of the execution team on event day ● Support internal communication with leadership and other stakeholders ● Assist Manager, Marketing and Events and Events Director in all tasks Desired Skills/Experience: ● 0-1 year of relevant marketing or event management experience ● Ability to work nights and weekends if/when required ● Quick learner with the ability to meet deadlines ● Organizational skills and attention to detail ● Ability to adapt swiftly to feedback and evolving event needs ● Experience working with social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) ● Strong interpersonal skills ● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously ● Skilled at Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and InDesign ● Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills Compensation is $17.95/hour.
