The SUBS Grant Analyst prepares, reviews, and negotiates outgoing subagreements for sponsored research activities. They provide expert advice and training to faculty and administrators on compliance with university and external agency policies.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with at least one year of experience in research administration. Preferred qualifications include experience in a large university environment and knowledge of federal and non-federal pre and post-award policies.
Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary The Office of Sponsored Research Services provides mission-critical support and risk management to the University’s research enterprise. The SUBS Grant Analyst (GA) enforces compliance and provides expert advice and training to faculty and administrators related to internal university/school and external agency procedures and policies related to research administration. Contracting responsibilities are university–wide and include preparing, negotiating and administering outgoing subagreements for sponsored research activities. Under the supervision of the Manager, the SUBS GA will review, process and negotiate subawards in the SUBSystem for both Danforth Campus and the School of Medicine. This is a remote position. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare, review and negotiate outgoing subagreements. Includes but is not limited to: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework and vast compliance rules affecting sponsored research agreements. Provide detail-oriented review of SUBSystem Required Items while providing expert guidance and enforcing compliance with university, school and external agency policies related to outgoing subawards. Analyze sponsored research awards received from external funding agencies for required flow down terms, and active assurances (animals, humans, conflict of interest, etc.) to prepare appropriate outgoing subaward agreements. Manage workload using status transparency for prioritization. Ensure accurate and timely submission of all subawards to OSRS Signing Official for approval. Administer and Manage the SUBS template portfolio of attachments, institutional database and internal Process documents. Exercise sound judgment regarding financial information to accurately create and approve Supplier Contracts (formerly Purchase Orders) and Supplier Contract Amendments in the university financial system (Workday) for subrecipient funding encumbrances. Provide expert advice and training to university research administrators and faculty on research administration processes and policies. Manage FFATA reporting using SUBSystem FFATA reports and fsrs.gov. Prepare weekly status report of SUBS teamwork load to facilitate prioritization and necessary follow-up of workload for Subagreements. Assist Manager with special projects and perform other tasks as assigned. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
