Want to join the ride? About the Role We are seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Wartsila's Energy business in the Americas. This role focuses on commercial analytics, financial modeling, market analysis, and the development of analytical tools that enable deal origination, value proposition quantification, and strategic decision-making for new build and lifecycle energy solutions. You will apply your analytical skills to generate business insights across various teams, including new build, agreements, plant operations, and performance, in alignment with Wartsila Energy's overarching strategy. This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring two on-site days per week at one of our main facilities: Houston, TX; Herndon, VA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; or Emeryville, CA. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities and develop data-driven solutions. • Analyze large volumes of engine performance data to demonstrate the value proposition of Wartsila's lifecycle solutions within regional markets. • Support quantification of Wartsila's new build equipment and lifecycle agreements for business development, project development, marketing, and sales using new and existing modeling methods. • Develop, maintain, and document financial models and other analytical tools to evaluate new build and lifecycle sales opportunities. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (engineering, data science, economics, finance, or related discipline). • Experience with analytical tools such as Python and Excel, including packages or add-ins for analyzing large datasets and building predictive models. • Proficiency in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot. • Proactive self-starter with strong communication skills and willingness to learn other aspects of Wartsila's business. • Knowledge of electricity markets. • Fluency in English. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in engineering, data science, computer science, or similar. • Customer-oriented mindset. • Knowledge of SQL, Databricks, and Git. • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Qlik. • Experience translating technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. For applicants that reside in CA, the salary range is $ 87,500 - $ 107,000 USD. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
