Role summary: As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment, while integrating advanced AI and machine learning components. This role requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to meet business objectives. You will mentor peers, contribute to innovation, and ensure high-quality outcomes that enhance platform performance and customer experience within a dynamic and evolving technology environment. **Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position** About the team: Our team works closely with Walmart U.S. Stores and eCommerce to enhance customer experiences by delivering innovative technology solutions. We support associates, stores, and merchants across various product categories, including groceries, entertainment, sporting goods, and crafts. Focus areas include optimizing supply chain efficiency, improving customer experience, enabling store operations, enhancing in-store services, and advancing merchant tools and data science. Through advanced software development and continuous improvement, the team delivers impactful solutions that uphold Walmart’s commitment to quality, reliability, and value across all shopping channels. What you'll do: Own delivery of scoped features or models through collaboration with engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support. Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing. Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency. Assist in translating high-level designs into detailed technical solutions, ensuring scalability and maintainability. Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to maintain software quality and performance. Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics aligned with business goals. Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement Design and Implement highly scalable backend services What you'll bring: Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as Java(Preferred) Scala, Python Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices. Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through collaborative, iterative development and continuous integration. Demonstrated skills in AI/ML integration and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency. Ability to bring insight out of data Solid understanding of platform design, product strategy, and technical leadership in scalable, secure software solutions. Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on quality, performance, and customer-centric outcomes. Experience mentoring peers and fostering continuous learning within engineering teams. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
