The role of a Picker/Packer at Walmart is to play a critical part in the fulfillment process by accurately selecting and packing merchandise for shipping to customers or stores. This involves using handheld devices and picking equipment to locate, retrieve, and package items according to customer orders or store requirements. Key responsibilities include: • Order Picking: Using handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations within the warehouse. • Product Packaging: Packing merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts. • Quality Control: Inspecting merchandise for any defects, damages, or discrepancies before packing, and reporting any issues to supervisors. • Inventory Management: Updating inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment.
