Job Description: As a Picker/Packer at Walmart, you will play a critical role in the fulfillment process by accurately selecting and packing merchandise for shipping to customers or Walmart stores. You will work in a fast-paced environment using handheld devices and picking equipment to locate, retrieve, and package items according to customer orders or store requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Order Picking: Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations within the warehouse. • Product Packaging: Pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts. • Quality Control: Inspect merchandise for any defects, damages, or discrepancies before packing, and report any issues to supervisors. • Inventory Management: Update inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment. • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse. • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and team members to achieve daily picking and packing targets. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous experience in warehouse operations, order picking, or packing is advantageous. • Familiarity with handheld devices and warehouse management systems is desirable. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and maneuver bulky items using appropriate equipment. • Physical agility to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods.
