Job Title: Picker/Packer Summary: This role is responsible for accurately selecting and packing merchandise for shipping to customers or Walmart stores. The individual will work in a fast-paced environment using handheld devices and picking equipment to locate, retrieve, and package items according to customer orders or store requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Order Picking: - Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations within the warehouse. - Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items efficiently, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order. - Verify product details, quantities, and quality before packing to ensure customer satisfaction. 2. Product Packaging: - Pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts. - Label packages with shipping information, barcodes, and tracking numbers. - Ensure that packages are sealed properly to prevent damage during transit. 3. Quality Control: - Inspect merchandise for any defects, damages, or discrepancies before packing, and report any issues to supervisors. - Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction. - Handle fragile or delicate items with care to prevent breakage or damage during packing and shipping. 4. Inventory Management: - Update inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment. - Communicate any inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors for resolution. - Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. 5. Safety and Compliance: - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse. - Operate picking equipment and machinery safely and responsibly. - Follow company policies and procedures regarding workplace safety, security, and regulatory compliance. 6. Team Collaboration: - Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and team members to achieve daily picking and packing targets. - Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and ensure efficient workflow.
