Job Summary: As an Order Picker at Walmart, you will accurately and efficiently select merchandise from storage locations to fulfill customer orders or replenish inventory. You will work in a fast-paced environment using handheld devices and picking equipment to locate, retrieve, and pack items according to order specifications. Key Responsibilities: • Order Picking: • Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations within the warehouse. • Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items efficiently, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order. • Verify product details, quantities, and quality before packing to ensure customer satisfaction. • Product Packaging: • Pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts. • Label packages with shipping information, barcodes, tracking numbers, and any other required documentation. • Ensure that packages are sealed properly to prevent damage during transit. • Inventory Management: • Update inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment. • Communicate any inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors for resolution. • Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. • Quality Control: • Conduct visual inspections of merchandise for any defects, damages, or discrepancies before picking and packing. • Report any issues or concerns to supervisors for resolution. • Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction. • Safety and Compliance: • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse. • Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work area. • Follow company policies and procedures regarding workplace safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
