Job Summary As an Order Picker at Walmart, you will accurately and efficiently select merchandise from storage locations to fulfill customer orders or replenish inventory. You will use handheld devices and picking equipment in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Order Picking: • Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise. • Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items efficiently. • Verify product details and quantities before packing. • Product Packaging: • Pack merchandise securely using packaging materials. • Label packages with shipping information and tracking numbers. • Ensure packages are sealed properly to prevent damage during transit. • Inventory Management: • Update inventory records in the warehouse management system. • Communicate any inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors. • Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits. • Quality Control: • Conduct visual inspections of merchandise for defects or discrepancies. • Report any issues or concerns to supervisors. • Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality. • Safety and Compliance: • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. • Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean work area. • Follow company policies regarding workplace safety and security. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous experience in order picking or related field is advantageous. • Familiarity with handheld devices and warehouse management systems is desirable. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing merchandise. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions: • Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. • Use of warehouse equipment and machinery. • Interaction with team members and delivery personnel throughout the shift.
