As an Order Picker at Walmart, you will play a crucial role in fulfilling customer orders and maintaining optimal inventory levels within the warehouse. Your attention to detail and accuracy are essential for ensuring timely delivery of products to customers. Here's how your responsibilities would break down. Order Picking You will be responsible for accurately selecting merchandise from storage locations to fulfill customer orders or replenish inventory for Walmart stores. To do this, you'll use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise efficiently. • Select merchandise according to order specifications, verifying product details and quantities before packing. • Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items promptly, minimizing delays. Product Packaging Once selected, you'll pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials like boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts. This includes labeling packages with shipping information, barcodes, tracking numbers, and any other required documentation. Inventory Management You'll update inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment. If discrepancies arise, communicate them to supervisors for resolution. Additionally, assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. Quality Control Conduct visual inspections of merchandise for defects, damages, or discrepancies before picking and packing. Report any issues to supervisors and follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.Safety and Compliance Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, preventing accidents and injuries.
