Position Summary...The Director, Risk Operations is a senior leadership role within Walmart’s Marketplace business responsible for leading operational execution across the risk portfolio. This role reports up to the Group Director of Seller Support and Risk Operations. This individual will run a large risk operations organization and set the vision for scaling for the future, ensuring a high bar for quality and ensure all cost, service level metrics are met. This is a strategic leadership role as we build a platform where customers are protected, sellers are empowered to run their business and the Walmart Marketplace grows at scale. What you'll do... What you'll do... Responsibilities: • Managing a team of leaders and agents who manage inbound and outbound customer interactions related to fraud, account security, and risk-related issues. This role ensures the team delivers timely, accurate, and empathetic support while minimizing risk exposure and maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. • Manage real-time call center performance, including queue monitoring, agent availability, and adherence to schedules. • Partner with Workforce Management (WFM) and capacity planning leaders to ensure optimal staffing. • Build a global organization with robust tools, processes, and controls to deliver the highest quality work in a complex business across various types of queued work, both proactive and reactive. Ensure depth of policy knowledge and consistency in application to achieve the best outcomes at scale. • Customer and Industry Specific Acumen: Ability to understand dynamic risk trends and be able to connect the patterns between business-as-usual work and changing conditions that must be detected, analyzed, and evaluated for change. • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of risk operations professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team. • Effectively communicate risk-related information, analyses, and recommendations to senior management, executives, and relevant stakeholders. Present complex concepts clearly and concisely to facilitate understanding and support closed-loop feedback systems, including compliance and audit. • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve risk operations processes, methodologies, and tools. Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in risk operations to implement advancements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelors degree with preference for business, finance related course of study. Advanced certifications or programs of study in risk is highly desirable. • Extensive experience (15+ years) in risk and customer service-related positions with a track record of driving successful outcomes. • Extensive experience (15+ years) in e Commerce, Financial Services, and online Marketplaces is highly desirable. This includes experience both building in a high growth environment as well as successfully executing in a multi-billion dollar globally scaled enterprise. • In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, products and technologies, and best practices. • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
