The Impact You Will Have The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the design, automation, and operation of WDTech’s Cloud Platform. This position will build secure, scalable infrastructure and work alongside our development organization to enable better, faster, and more reliable deployments. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will also help build out a self-service platform to empower software feature teams, while improving reliability, observability, and security. Primary Responsibilities Design and build secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and CICD tools with a GitOps framework. Collaborate with our software, data, and machine learning engineers to help them understand cloud best practices and utilize our infrastructure effectively. Evaluate new and emerging technologies to determine which ones can help solve problems and then prototype them. Integrate performance and cost monitoring into our cloud environments. Look for opportunities to improve our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure. Automate all the things! Mentor junior team members and help them grow their engineering skills. Contribute to the SRE/DevOps team activities, supporting best practices, knowledge sharing and cross-functional initiatives. Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver excellent products. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps/SRE role. 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure (esp. AWS, Azure). 3+ years of experience in Kubernetes and IaC tools (esp. Terraform and Crossplane). Experience with monitoring and tracing (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, etc.). Demonstrable experience of influencing and driving Engineering strategy. Hands-on experience with large database systems such as Amazon Athena and Amazon Redshift preferred. Experience with Information Security Certifications such as ISO27001 or SOC2 and ETL processing tools like Apache Airflow preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of Python. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong focus on automation, system reliability, and operational excellence. Ability to design scalable, observable, and cost-effective infrastructure. Quick to learn new tools and adapt to evolving team or project needs. Takes ownership of outcomes and drives initiatives to completion. Actively mentors team members and promote knowledge sharing. Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes. Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders. This position has an estimated base salary of $160,000 - $175,000 plus discretionary bonus.
