Role Overview: As the Senior Director of Transportation Services, you will lead and oversee all aspects of the district's transportation operations. What You'll Do: - You will develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation services across the district. - You will manage and lead a team of transportation professionals, including drivers, dispatchers, and administrative staff. - You will oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and contract management to ensure cost-effective operations. - You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and safety standards. - You will collaborate with school administrators, parents, and community partners to address transportation needs and concerns. - You will analyze transportation data to improve route efficiency and service quality. - You will lead initiatives to integrate technology and innovation into transportation services. - You will respond to emergencies and develop contingency plans to maintain service continuity. What You Bring: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a large public sector or school district. - Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams and complex operations. - In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Proven ability to manage budgets and contracts efficiently. - Proficiency with transportation management software and data analysis tools. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working within a public school system or educational environment. - Familiarity with routing software and GPS tracking systems. - Advanced degree in Transportation Management, Public Administration, or related field. - Certification in transportation safety or fleet management.
