Job Title: Senior Director - Transportation Company Overview: Wake County Public School System is one of the largest and most dynamic school districts in North Carolina, committed to providing high-quality education and support services to a diverse student population. Role Overview: As the Senior Director of Transportation Services, you will lead and oversee all aspects of transportation operations within the district. Your role is critical in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for students, staff, and school activities, while managing a large team and complex logistics. What You'll Do: - You will develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation services across the district. - You will manage daily operations, including bus routing, scheduling, and maintenance. - You will lead and mentor a team of transportation managers, drivers, and support staff. - You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations. - You will collaborate with school administrators, parents, and community stakeholders to address transportation needs and concerns. - You will oversee budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation for the transportation department. - You will analyze transportation data to improve efficiency and service quality. - You will lead safety initiatives and training programs to maintain high safety standards. What You Bring: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a school or public sector environment. - Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, routing software, and fleet management. - Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
