Job Description Job Title: Estimator / Project Manager - Commercial HVAC Retrofit Projects Location: Largo, FL Job Type: Full-Time Department: HVAC Service & Retrofit Division Reports To: Vice President, Service About Us We are a trusted leader in commercial HVAC services, specializing in retrofit and replacement projects for a wide range of facilities, including office buildings, schools, healthcare, retail, and industrial properties. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven Estimator / Project Manager to run the project division of our service department. This hybrid role involves estimating and managing retrofit projects, including equipment replacements, system upgrades, and energy efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial HVAC systems, project coordination, and client communication. Estimating Key Responsibilities Develop detailed, accurate estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC retrofit projects, including equipment replacements and system upgrades. Conduct site assessments and gather field data to develop project scopes. Collaborate with sales, technicians, engineers, and vendors to define scope and select equipment. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes. Prepare professional bid packages, ensuring clarity and competitiveness. Project Management Manage awarded projects from pre-construction through closeout. Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to schedule work and ensure timely project execution. Monitor budgets, labor hours, material costs, and change orders. Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding schedules, progress, and expectations. Ensure safety compliance and high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. Required Qualifications 7-10 years of experience in estimating and/or managing commercial HVAC retrofit or design-build projects. Strong technical knowledge of rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and control upgrades. Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and submittals. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, estimating tools (e.g., QuoteSoft, FastEST, Excel), and project tracking software. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in occupied commercial buildings and coordinating with property managers. Familiarity with energy rebate programs, utility incentives, and permitting processes. OSHA 10 or 30 certification. Technical degree or HVAC trade school background.
