About the Role Join us as a Founding Engineer to revolutionize how government agencies draft, analyze, and implement regulations using AI. You will work directly with our founding team to build the technical infrastructure that is already transforming regulatory processes at the state and federal level, including our deployment with Virginia's Executive Order 51 and the U.S. Department of Education. Key Responsibilities Architect and build scalable AI systems for legal cartography and regulatory analysis Develop core features for our JUSTINIAN, MINERVA, and SOLON product suite Design ML pipelines for processing complex regulatory documents and generating compliance analyses Create APIs and integrations for government agency systems Build real-time regulatory drafting and public comment analysis tools Own end-to-end product development from conception to deployment in government environments Work directly with regulatory agencies to understand and solve their technical challenges What We’re Looking For 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities Experience with ML/AI systems, particularly NLP, RAG frameworks and OCR Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern web frameworks Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and security best practices Ability to navigate complex government compliance and security requirements Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environment Interest in regulatory reform and civic technology Bonus: Experience with government technology, legal tech, or regulatory compliance systems What We Offer Significant equity stake as an early team member Opportunity to directly impact how government operates at scale Work on cutting-edge AI applications in the legal/regulatory space Direct collaboration with founders and advisory board including Stanford/Top-5 law school experts Remote-first culture with regular team gatherings Competitive salary and benefits
