Position Summary The Data Analytics Expert – Torque Quality & Manufacturing is responsible for supporting the Torque Project Team through the collection, organization, visualization, and analysis of torque-related and manufacturing quality data. This role provides the analytical foundation for the project, enabling the Senior Consultant / Project Lead – Torque Expert and Torque Engineers to make informed, data-driven decisions that improve product quality, reduce process variation, and enhance throughput. The Data Analytics Expert designs, automates, and maintains performance dashboards, scorecards, and trend reports, ensuring that leadership and plant teams have timely visibility into process health and improvement progress. Key Responsibilities • Collect, organize, and validate torque and quality data from systems such as Atlas Copco ToolsNet, plant MES systems, and internal spreadsheets or databases. • Develop and maintain scorecards and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as C/1000, CP/Cpk, FTC/STC, and rework rates. • Stratify data by zone, line, model, process type, station, fastener, and joint type to identify top issues and enable effective prioritization for the Torque Problem Solving Team. • Support the development of dashboards and scorecards that provide visualization of metrics by station, fastener, and joint type, enabling real-time evaluation of torque health and issue resolution progress. • Support the root cause analysis and verification process by supplying trend data, failure rate analysis, and before/after metrics to quantify the impact of corrective actions. • Automate and streamline data reporting processes using tools such as Power BI, Excel macros, Minitab, or Python to ensure timely visibility of critical metrics. • Collaborate with Torque Engineers and Project Leads to align data structures and reporting templates with problem-solving and plant management needs. • Generate weekly and monthly reports summarizing system performance, top recurring issues, and improvement trends for leadership communication. • Support management reviews and presentations by preparing high-quality visual content (charts, Pareto analyses, scorecards, and data stories). • Conduct data integrity audits to verify measurement system accuracy, data completeness, and source traceability. • Provide analytical support for continuous improvement initiatives and KPI tracking to sustain performance gains. Expected Outcomes • Deliver clear, actionable visibility of torque process and quality performance through automated, data-driven reporting tools. • Enable prioritization and focused problem-solving using stratified and categorized data by station, joint type, and failure mode. • Accurately measure and verify improvement actions, demonstrating sustained performance gains and process stability. • Provide consistent, automated dashboards and scorecards that support proactive decision-making by plant and corporate leadership. • Increase data literacy and analytical capability among torque engineers, plant quality teams, and project stakeholders through effective data presentation and training. Job Qualifications - Required • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field, or significant equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, manufacturing performance, or quality systems within an automotive or industrial environment. • Advanced proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent. • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and Minitab for statistical and capability analysis. • Excellent analytical reasoning with the ability to translate complex datasets into meaningful insights and strategic recommendations. • Effective communicator, able to present data-driven findings to both technical and leadership audiences. Job Qualifications - Preferred • 10 years of experience with data analytics and in supporting manufacturing environments, preferably within the automotive industry. • Experience in extracting and structuring data from systems including Atlas Copco ToolsNet, MES, SQL, or equivalent databases. • Strong working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), CP/CPK, and quality metrics interpretation. • Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies (Shainin, Kaizen, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D). • Experience in automotive assembly environments supporting torque or fastening systems analytics. • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Power Query for data automation and model development. • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain management dashboards and KPI scorecards for process and quality tracking. • Experience leading data correlation and stratification studies to identify root causes and validate improvement actions. • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in high-intensity, results-driven environments.
