Mission The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the management of supplier cost, schedule and technical performance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of aerospace supply chain management and contracting, with experience in NewSpace or commercial spaceflight. This role encompasses procurement strategy, supplier management, contract and inventory oversight, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration—with a strong emphasis on performance measurement and cost efficiency. This role reports directly to the Starlab Chief Procurement Officer. The Supply Chain Manager works alongside the Chief Engineer and Starlab Program Manager to deliver the project. Essential Duties • Formulate and implement procurement and supply chain strategies that align with Starlab Space’s business objectives and growth plans. • Lead sourcing initiatives for critical systems and subsystems—balancing catalog vs. custom buying to support design-to-cost goals. • Engage, onboard, and maintain supplier relationships—serving as the primary point of contact for contract negotiations, performance reviews, and issue resolution. • Monitor supplier KPIs—such as on-time delivery, cost compliance, quality standards, and EAC/ETC targets. • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and other teams to align supply chain actions with technical, schedule, and budgetary needs. • Support the phased implementation and integration of ERP/PLM systems to enhance visibility, effectiveness, and control. • Oversee contract management—including negotiations, compliance, and amendments—ensuring alignment with project objectives. • Manage inventory, logistics, and subcontractor interactions to guarantee timely, cost-efficient procurement and delivery. • Ensure adherence to export control regulations, quality standards, and other relevant compliance requirements. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives—leveraging data and ASCM-aligned methodologies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and enhance efficiency across the supply chain. Desired Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace Supply Chain Management (preferably within NewSpace or commercial spaceflight sectors), Business Administration, Engineering or a related field. • Deep understanding of human spaceflight supply chain requirements, risk factors, and integration challenges. • Proven track record managing complex, multi-tier supply chains, including critical systems, subsystems, and components with long-lead or limited-source availability. • Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, including performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and strategic sourcing. • Hands-on experience with procurement and supply chain tools such as NetSuite, Airtable, Confluence, Jira, or equivalent ERP/PLM platforms. • Strong contract negotiation, contract administration, and change management skills, with the ability to balance technical, cost, and schedule requirements. • Familiarity with U.S. content requirements and compliance with export control regulations (EAR/ITAR), quality standards, and industry certifications. • Self-starter with proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment while influencing and engaging stakeholders Desired Competencies • Supply chain management experience in human spaceflight programs. • Knowledge of design-to-cost and catalog utilization strategies. • Proficient in purchasing, planning, procurement, MRP/ERP, BOM structures, and BOE creation. • Skilled in development contract management and subcontract oversight. • Cross-functional understanding of Supplier Quality and Engineering. • Strong problem-solving abilities.
