The Repossession Coordinator is responsible for repossessing Matco-financed items and developing recovery strategies while adhering to legal procedures. This role involves communicating with customers to resolve outstanding balances and coordinating with distributors for collateral repossession.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and 2-5 years of collection and repossession experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
The Repossession Coordinator repossesses Matco-financed items for which the purchaser has not paid. This individual researches the nature of the case, locates the property or person and develops a recovery strategy while following strict legal procedures during the recovery process. Key Responsibilities: Take incoming/make outbound calls to customers and convince customers to make payments/cure outstanding past due balances on their account or surrender collateral. Verify customer information on account is correct and update as necessary. Educate customers regarding their account, interest accruals, late fees, credit reporting, charge off, payment options and account management options. Coordinate the collateral repossession with our Distributor/District Manager. Negotiate a fair sale price of the repossessed collateral with our Distributor. Process customer payments via inter-company computer systems. Annotate accounts in company database to document interactions with the distributor, technician, etc. Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, including collection policies/laws. Work with other departments/personnel where necessary to resolve customer issues. Perform above functions within department expectations/metrics. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Highly organized and motivated. Computer skills in Word and Excel. Ability to utilize and analyze spreadsheets for data analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work independently with little supervision. Job Requirements: High school diploma and 2-5 years of collection and repossession experience. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
