Two full-time openings are available for Special Education Teachers dedicated to supporting high school students in grades 9 through 12. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a manageable caseload of 17-20 students, providing specialized educational support tailored to individual needs. Location: Dearborn, MI Job Type: Contract (CSY) Grade Levels: 9th-12th Student Caseload: 17-20 students Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for high school students with special needs • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet diverse learning requirements • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and growth Qualifications: • Valid teaching certification in Special Education • Experience working with high school students in a special education setting • Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues • Patient, compassionate, and committed to student development This role provides a meaningful chance to impact the lives of high school students through tailored education and support.
