We are seeking a motivated Environmental Permitting Project Manager to assist in growing Tetra Tech’s Texas environmental business. Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement. Your Role: Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-level Environmental Permitting Project Manager to join our Houston, Texas team to provide support on various environmental projects throughout Texas and surrounding area. Duties will include: • Our team member will have experience working with environmental, regulatory and land use agencies, such as: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and/Bureau of Land Management, state agencies, and local county and city planning departments. • Experience with permitting of linear infrastructure, particularly under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission preferred. • Firm understanding/expertise in NEPA permitting. • Experience with permitting of renewable wind and solar projects. • Develop proposals including scope of work and budgetary estimates. • Interact with commercial/industrial clients to identify needs, develop, and process solutions. • Candidates must be able to handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with others, and work independently within a team. • Candidates must be able to research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations on a project-specific basis to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements, and interface with regulatory agencies. • Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize critical thinking, a flexible approach to problem solving, excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills and attention to detail. • The position may require outdoor work as well as overnight travel. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: • BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined sciences including biology, forestry, wildlife, natural resource management, environmental planning, or similar science degrees. • Six plus years of experience in the permitting industry or related environmental consulting experience. • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel required. • ArcGIS experience is a plus. • Physical tasks include walking over uneven and vegetated terrain, carrying field equipment and coolers (up to 50 pounds), and occasional sampling activities such as hand auguring. • Travel requirements may include day-long projects that do not require overnight stays to multi-day field projects that do require overnight stays. • Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, can occur in remote locations, could include areas of uneven terrain, and may require wearing FRC clothing. • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required. • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
