The Director of Culture should be a self-directed leader that can build and lead programs and work with managers and employees across the company. A successful Director will implement strategies that support business growth, foster morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and managers, attract talented potential employees and promote the organization's values and diversity goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the COO and serving on the Senior Team, Lead and manage the team that includes the Operations Coordinator. Lead initiatives across the company spanning three core areas: Workforce Management o Understand and recognize the strategic goals and plans of TargetSmart and create ways to systematically communicate that information to the staff and collect feedback. o Plan and facilitate the company’s regular meetings, including monthly all-staff meetings, inter-team meetings and annual meetings. o Design and implement an employee recognition and engagement program aimed at fostering a sense of belonging for all staff, rewarding exemplary work and retaining high performing employees. o Work with TARA Group HR to implement employee engagement surveys and other benchmarking efforts regarding employee satisfaction, sentiment, and sense of belonging, and coordinate efforts around understanding and acting upon survey findings, in consultation with CEO, COO, CRO, and HR. o Provide a forum for teams and individual employees to tackle organizational challenges together, with an aim to actively listen and offer support. Work proactively to continually strengthen our company culture and ensure our policies are consistent with and enhance, not detract from our culture. Work to strengthen the cultural connections between TargetSmart and the TARA Group and sister companies. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility o Build cultural competence among all staff members via educational resources, training, and leading by example. o Assist managers and directors in identifying methods of promoting diversity and inclusivity among team members. o Participate in The Tara Group’s DEI Advisory Group and communicate ideas to leadership, understanding that diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are vital to thriving work cultures and workforces. Talent Acquisition o Work with Tara Group HR to help strengthen the recruitment and hiring process, with a focus on general hiring processes rather than individual hiring decisions o Collaborate with the Tara Group HR team to represent TargetSmart culture in the hiring marketplace and to help recruit and hire capable and diverse employees. o Work with Tara Group HR team to improve TargetSmart’s new hire onboarding process.
