The Role Lumen’s Marketing Team uses deep industry and customer insights and rigorous analysis to help marketing leaders achieve results with real impact. Lumen is looking for a Manager of Brand Insights to cultivate customer, competitive, and market insights and measurement projects in support of our Brand development. They will join our team of brand experts empower data-informed brand strategy and brand design decisions aligned to internal and customer objectives. The ideal candidate is energized by connecting the dots between customer insights, brand strategy and business outcomes. The Main Responsibilities • Work with Director of Brand Strategy to plan qualitative and quantitative research roadmap and execute research projects that drive deep Brand insights • Oversee the implementation of a high-quality brand insights program, including managing a comprehensive Brand measurement dashboard, analyzing the results and developing data-based narratives to share with key internal stakeholders. • Leverage quantitative and qualitative inputs to deliver insightful analysis in support of upfront brand discovery and learnings (e.g., brand audits, competitive brand landscapes, industry brand trends, customer research) • Leverage quantitative and qualitative inputs to deliver insightful analysis in support backend brand decision making (e.g., analyst interviews, customer testing, brand measurement) • Translate brand research findings into actionable brand strategy opportunities • Work with third-party research partners to provide guidance and recommendations for research projects, sampling plans and survey guides/questionnaires • Manage vendor relationships, secure external resources needed to efficiently execute projects, and oversee all external communications and vendor deliverables • Serve as research knowledge and best practices expert to broader marketing team • Identify and suggest new areas of research innovation and growth • Forge strong relationships with teams across the organization including Marketing, Paid Media, Communications, CX and EX to ensure brand insights are incorporated into key workstreams What We Look For in a Candidate • 5+ years’ experience in marketing research, or brand or marketing strategy • 2+ years of work experience in brand strategy or brand analysis projects, specifically with the following: • Conducting brand landscape analyses and brand competitive audits • Quantitative and qualitative brand research analysis • Brand testing, validation, and measurement • Experience working on brand definition, architecture, identity, brand voice, and brand experience for complex, global brands • B2B and technology experience a bonus • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent • Strong business sense balanced with collaboration and leadership skills • A defined sense of taste and an interest in trends as they impact brand strategy and design • Strong analytics capabilities and understanding of market research, customer insights, and digital metrics • Exceptional organization and presentation skills • High level of executive presence, communication and social skills required Compensation The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications. Location Based Pay Ranges $80510 – $100635 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD. $84740 – $105922 in these states: AZ, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY. $88980 – $111218 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI. $93210 – $116512 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
