Job Summary Job Responsibilities • Review and analyze business processes and operating procedures as a means to improve operational efficiency and enhance departmental performance. Work with management to devise new or enhanced systems and work processes designed to reduce or eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and improve performance • Contribute to opportunity recognition, problem solving, root cause, gap analysis, and process improvement initiatives to drive continued advancement of the Meter Services organization • Review and analyze data, and prepare necessary reports to meet financial, regulatory and contractual obligations • Provide analytical support for the design and implementation of various system integration efforts • Provide managers and staff thorough analyses of daily operations and transactional activities and how they may vary from specific benchmarks (i.e., previous actual and/or business plan results) • Analyze and interpret financial results and forecasts. Perform required variance analyses • Prepare presentations on various departmental initiatives to assist with the effective communication of project progress/program activities and/or to support requests for additional funding (i.e., URB documentation) • Provide analytical support for various essential business systems including the Meter Inventory Management System (MIMS), Field Work Management System (CGI) and the development and maintenance of Field Laptop Meter Programming software • Provide analytical support for the operation and further development of features and functionality for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system, including the network infrastructure, meter technologies and back office systems • Provide analytical support and direction for Field and Shop personnel regarding meter issue investigations • Develop and/or enhance existing spreadsheets, databases, and web pages to support various business related functions • Partner with and develop positive working relationships with various clients including vendors, LIPA and other financial and operating areas to obtain information required to meet responsibilities and respond to various inquiries • Support documentation writing, editing, revising, proofreading, and assembling reports, minutes, SDLC documents, and user documentation such as user manuals, online help content, etc. • Assist/lead special projects as needed Job Specific Qualifications Required Skills, Competencies and Education • Bachelor degree preferably business administration, business analytics, business information systems, operations management or related field and a minimum of 7 years of analytical experience. In lieu of a degree 11 years of in depth analytical equivalent analytical experience. • Experience with basic inventory management • Experience with budget/variance analysis • Strong presentation skills (development and delivery) with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skill • Knowledge in use and application of SQL tools, data models, data processing • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Word • Must be results and team oriented • Candidate must foster an inclusive work environment and value all aspects of diversity Desired Qualifications: • Experience in or knowledge of electric metering is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Basic or Visual C • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and/or have Project Management experience • Experience with Oracle Database Management • Familiarity with principles of finance and accounting • Demonstrated ability to grasp and understand technology or technical issues Minimum Years of Experience 7 years of experience Education Bachelors Certifications None Noted Disclaimer Certain positions at the Company may require you to have access to Part 810-Controlled Information.
