Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join our team, responsible for providing technical leadership throughout the sales process for large and complex energy storage projects. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will develop a deep understanding of our energy storage technology platforms, provide technical support and product configuration guidance to sales teams, and drive successful equipment-only and turn-key sales. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal teams including Product, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Project Execution. Key Responsibilities • Develop a deep understanding of Fluence energy storage technology platforms and provide sales teams with technical support and product configuration guidance to drive successful sales. • Review, understand, and negotiate detailed technical specifications for energy storage core and BOP scope (MV, HV, and civil). • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for new sales and lead technical aspects of contract negotiations – scope, schedule, and performance guarantees. • Assist in the development of sales tools and support materials to streamline and grow sales, and capture customer technical and application requirements to help shape product roadmaps. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and provide technical expertise to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred). • 5+ years of work experience in energy storage, solar, or other power generation, with at least 2 years of grid-scale energy storage experience. • Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate results effectively. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in contract negotiations and familiarity with key contract areas. • Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and regulations, and entrepreneurial drive with the ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks in parallel. • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with energy storage systems, including design, installation, and operation. • Knowledge of industry trends and developments in energy storage and renewable energy. • Strong business acumen and understanding of sales principles and practices. • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and project execution. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $114,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
