Job Overview As a Billing Specialist II, you will play a critical role in the revenue cycle management of Henry Ford Health System. Under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient financial, insurance, and demographic information to ensure compliant claims to third-party payers. Your expertise will be essential in resolving problem accounts, following up on claims, and billing and collecting payments for all Henry Ford Health System hospitals, outpatient clinics, and employed physicians. Key Responsibilities • Identify and determine the accuracy and completeness of patient financial, insurance, and demographic information to ensure compliant claims to third-party payers • Resolve problem accounts from payer denials and follow up on any claims that require a payer response • Bill and collect payments for all Henry Ford Health System hospitals, outpatient clinics, and employed physicians • Work independently to effectively prioritize workflow and meet third-party requirements • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and managers to ensure seamless revenue cycle management Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: • A high school diploma or equivalent • Two years of experience in an office environment or healthcare-related field • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize workflow • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and managers • Ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: • Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position • Knowledge of medical terminology • Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS revenue codes • College coursework in accounting, business, or healthcare administration Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Henry Ford Health System, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
