As a Media Product Manager, you will take ownership of the software tools that power global newsrooms, managing the full product lifecycle from planning to publishing. You’ll work on enhancing workflows, refining metadata management, and optimizing content distribution across digital platforms. Your responsibilities will also include training teams, developing clear documentation, and leading process innovation to ensure seamless media production of short-form videos, documentaries, and podcasts. We seek a self-driven, highly technical, and emotionally intelligent Product Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, distributed team environment. The ideal candidate is not only technically adept but also possesses high emotional intelligence, strong active listening skills, and an empathetic style to foster trust and collaboration. The ideal candidate should: - Work independently with high transparency, taking full ownership of product decisions. - Possess a high level of EQ and active listening skills, ensuring collaborative and empathetic leadership. - Advocate for customers and end users, ensuring newsroom workflows are efficient, intuitive, and impactful. - Collaborate effectively with engineering teams, understanding technical constraints while prioritizing product needs. - Make strategic decisions with confidence, including the ability to say ‘no’ when necessary to maintain commitments and focus. What You’ll Do - Optimize newsroom workflows, streamlining planning, publishing, and metadata management processes. - Refine metadata collection and usage to enhance content discoverability and consistency. - Lead training and onboarding in Arabic and English, ensuring team adoption of best practices. - Develop and maintain documentation for technical users and newsroom staff, ensuring clarity and ease of use. - Collaborate cross-functionally, ensuring alignment between product, engineering, and editorial teams. - Proactively engage with end users, incorporating feedback into product decisions to enhance newsroom efficiency. - Balance strategic priorities and execution, ensuring sustainable growth and adoption of media products. What We’re Looking For Must-Have Experience - Fluent in Arabic (including MSA, native or second language) and confident in English. - 2–4 years of product management experience, ideally in content or media tools. - Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Active listening, customer empathy, and effective relationship management. - Media & Product Expertise: Experience working on digital platforms or content systems (news, media, publishing, or adjacent), metadata management, and publishing tools. - Technical Acumen: Familiarity with cloud-based systems, basic API integrations, and content distribution platforms. - Communication & Transparency: Ability to clearly articulate product vision, priorities, and decision-making rationale. - User-Centered Design Knowledge: Familiarity with UCD principles and iterative product development. - Independent & Agile Work Ethic: Self-motivated, able to work autonomously while engaging effectively in a remote, collaborative team. - Availability: Able to work an 8-hour shift ending at noon EST or overlap from 08:00 – 12:00 EST. Nice-to-haves - Newsroom experience, particularly as a writer or editor. - Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Airtable, Monday.com, or similar planning tools. - Familiarity with LLM and prompt engineering. - Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. - Experience working in remote or distributed teams.
