Planned Parenthood Advocates (PPAV) of Virginia is seeking a Advocacy Digital Communications Intern to join the team! PPAV is hiring a highly motivated, organized individual to assist our Communications Director in advocacy communication efforts. The Advocacy Digital Communications Intern will be a critical member of our team and play an integral role in our advocacy efforts to contribute to the overall goal of advancing a constitutional amendment protecting reproductive freedom in Virginia. Job Responsibilities Include • Monitor social media trends • Create engaging content • Staffing events / gathering content • Additional duties as needed Ideal Candidates Will • Have a passion for reproductive rights and increasing access to sexual and reproductive health care; • Show a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and showing progress towards goals; • Be a self-starter who can collaborate actively with other team members; • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse team members and communities; • Be detail-oriented, well-organized and a fast learner who can multitask; • Have experience and comfortability using graphic design tools (such as Canva or similar platforms) to create digital and print materials; • Have the ability to follow brand guidelines to ensure consistency in colors, fonts, and overall style; • Show an interest in developing skills in visual communications, including social media graphics, presentations, and simple layouts. Time & Compensation • Hourly expectations: 10 - 15 hours/week • Compensation of $19.96/hour (paid bi-weekly, must keep track of hours and submit time sheets) Organization Overview Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate.
