Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, patrolling designated areas, and responding promptly to incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively. Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or security services is highly valued, along with certifications in first aid and CPR. The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe environment and preventing loss or damage. Duties • Monitor security cameras (CCTV) and surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity. • Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify potential security breaches or hazards. • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR. • Enforce access control procedures by checking credentials and managing visitor logs. • Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing and addressing theft or vandalism. • Write detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary. • Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. • Provide conflict management and de-escalation support during disputes or disturbances. • Support team efforts in maintaining a secure environment through collaboration and adherence to safety policies. Skills • Proven experience or background in law enforcement, military service, or security roles is preferred. • Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable. • Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems. • Excellent conflict management and de-escalation abilities. • Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and security best practices. • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively. • Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and professionally. • Familiarity with surveillance technology, including CCTV systems, is advantageous. • Demonstrated ability to enforce rules while maintaining respectful interactions with staff and visitors.
