Position Summary The Sales Account Manager B2B (Business to Business) Industrial/Technical Products is responsible for direct sales to OEM's (not distribution) and managing-growing a portfolio of assigned customer accounts while developing new revenue opportunities within existing and target customers. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships, high customer satisfaction, and consistent revenue growth. The ideal candidate is consultative, customer-focused, and skilled at coordinating internal resources to deliver solutions that meet customer needs. Key Responsibilities Account Management & Customer Relationships • Manage and grow assigned accounts through proactive engagement and relationship development • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams (sales, operations, engineering, customer support) • Build trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders • Ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership development Sales & Revenue Growth • Identify and pursue upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities within existing accounts • Develop account plans to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and pricing negotiations • Forecast sales activity accurately and maintain pipeline visibility Business Development • Identify new customer opportunities through referrals, networking, and market research • Support new customer onboarding and transition to long-term account ownership • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity Internal Coordination • Work closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution • Coordinate product launches, service implementations, and contract renewals • Manage customer escalations and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner Reporting & CRM • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) • Track customer activity, opportunities, and performance metrics • Provide regular reports on account status, forecasts, and growth initiatives Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 5-10+ years of experience in B2B industrial "consultative sales" or account management • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously Preferred • Experience in [manufacturing / industrial / technology / services] environments • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales analytics • Experience working with cross-functional teams • Ability to travel as needed (typically 25–40%) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Revenue growth within assigned accounts • Customer retention and satisfaction • Pipeline growth and forecast accuracy • New opportunity generation • Account penetration and share-of-wallet growth Competencies & Attributes • Consultative selling mindset • Strong business acumen • Results-oriented and self-motivated • Customer-first approach • Excellent problem-solving and follow-through
