Position Overview: The HRIS IT Business Analyst II leads administration, optimization, and innovation within its Workday system. This position serves as a bridge between HR, IT, and Finance, providing senior-level support for Workday functionality, strategic analysis, technical solutions, and process enhancements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems administration, data integrity, user experience improvement, and integration lifecycle management. This role will also play a key part in upskilling and mentoring level one analysts to build organizational capacity and knowledge. Duties/Responsibilities: Workday System Administration: Serve as a senior Workday SME, overseeing system performance, enhancements, and user satisfaction across modules. Lead the design, configuration, and continuous improvement of complex business processes in Workday (e.g., automating payroll, time tracking, onboarding, compensation planning). Evaluate and implement advanced Workday features and new releases, driving user adoption and business value. Maintain data security, integrity, and quality across systems and business functions. Manage API and SFTP integrations, including end-to-end documentation, optimization, and support for related business processes. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for all Workday issues across functional teams. Mentor and actively upskill level one HRIS analysts by providing training, guidance, and development opportunities. Strategic Analysis & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, IT, and Finance stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable Workday solutions. Serve as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to ensure accurate solution design and configuration. Assess impacts of new requests or system changes, conducting in-depth root cause analysis and proposing alternatives. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system design, configuration decisions, and process flows Testing, Implementation, and Change Readiness: Lead testing efforts for enhancements, new features, and integrations, including test plan creation, test script execution, and UAT support. Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation processes and reconciliation of cross-system discrepancies. Assist in change management and training efforts related to HRIS feature rollouts or updates. Stay current on Workday releases and industry best practices to recommend improvements. Required Skills/Abilities: Expert-level knowledge of Workday modules, workflows, reporting, and integration capabilities. Demonstrated ability to lead HRIS initiatives independently from design to implementation. Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to clearly present data-driven insights. Experience collaborating across departments, with a focus on stakeholder management and customer service. Proficiency with process modeling, data analysis, and HRIS best practices. Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a passion for professional development of junior team members Required Qualifications: College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline – or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of progressive experience working with Workday, including at least 2 years in a lead analyst or systems administration role.
